March 23, 2019, Small Engine Maintenance and Repair Workshop
AHA Members only
Instructor: Alex Chase, ASE Certified Mechanic
Date: 3/23/2019; 9 am-5 pm
Location: 321 Brown Mountain Road
Greenville, TN 37445
Morning session (0900-1200) will include: oil change; filter changes; belt inspection and adjustment; spark plug inspection and replacement; chassis and axle lubrication; blade inspection and sharpening etc.
Afternoon Session (1230-5 pm) will troubleshoot and attempt to repair to running condition a non-working machine. If we can't fix it, we'll at least try to figure out what's wrong with it.
Limited to first 10 members who register
Cost: $5.00 per person will cover supplies and parts for the demonstrations
Members who bring their own machine should bring supplies and parts (e.g. oil and filter) for the maintenance session.
From Rogersville, take Burem Road (347), turn right on Brown Mountain Road, go about 1.4 miles, look for the house on the left with the paddle wheel.
From the north (Church Hill, etc.) left onto Goshen Valley Road, go 12.9 miles, left on Burem (347), 0.4 miles, go right on Brown Mountain Road, 1.4 miles, look for the house on the left with the paddle wheel.
Bring your own mower, chainsaw, trimmer or other small engine tool to the workshop and Alex will go over things like starting, maintenance, storage and care. This is the hands-on part! Please bring supplies and parts, such as oil, filters and belts, etc., with you. These are specific to your mower, and we won't be able to order them in advance. If the machine is non-working, we can do some troubleshooting as time allows, but cannot guarantee that it will leave in running condition. If you don't have a machine to bring, that's OK, you can help fix somebody else's or one of the demo mowers.
